Day 1 of the Farmont Summer School complete!
After we all arrived yesterday from five different countries, we spent the day in Antalya settling in and getting to know each other.
Lilly (18) from Vienna, Austria, who just graduated from school and is planning to study technical physics in October.
Tania (20) from Ukraine, who is pursuing a degree in international law in Trento, Italy.
Alex (20) from Bucharest, Romania, who took over our tour in Antalya and was able to tell us a lot about the architecture and the foundation of Turkey.
Clara (20) from London, UK, who loves pineapples and is studying education.
Katharina (23) from Leipzig, Germany, who just graduated from nursing school.
And of course, the wonderful Milena, who is keeping us all safe and connected, and Andreas, who is explaining to us all the wonders of sailing.
In the morning, Milena asked how we all slept — and the responses were interesting! The rocking and creaking of the boat made this experience truly unique.
Nevertheless, we stayed focused throughout our safety briefing and enjoyed great bonding time over breakfast.
We spent the rest of the day exploring Antalya and even had an unexpected detour that turned us into our own tour guides. We’ve already learned so much from each other in just one day and are very excited for the rest of this special experience! 🎇
