Year of journey:

My name is Fergan and I’m a 23 year old student from Germany. During my studies of information systems I also do research in interdisciplinary explainability of Artificial Intelligence focussing on critical design, creative spaces and transdisciplinary cooperation.
My volunteering work is characterized by equitable approaches to democracy and intercultural bridge building – a few of the central themes in this sailing summer school, I would argue.
Exchanges across cultures, especially in our european project, help in seeing our neighbours as our friends thereby strengthening our bonds to each other which strengthens europe as a whole!
When I’m not participating in exchanges – which might happen once in a while – I like to read, write, think, talk, dance, try new things, sing karaoke, sleep sometimes, cook, learn and forget.

“Connection is not only developed but also felt in more than one way. Our journey aboard the Marleen taught me a lot about a few special people, let me wind down and reflect over my muscle that lets me hold complexity. Filled with gratitude, delicious food and beautiful memories of magical landscapes this is how I will remember these days with my crew.”
